Minor League Report – A look at one of the best prospects

Minor League Report – A look at one of the best prospects

Justin Grimm, RHP, double-A Frisco: It almost seems like a formality at this point, but Grimm did make one final minor league start last Sunday before his big league debut. Grimm was strong again, allowing three runs on five hits while striking out eight. He was lifted after the seventh inning. Then, as you might remember, he struck out seven and allowing three runs across seven innings of work Saturday for the Rangers. It’s hard to know just what the Rangers’ plans are for Grimm at this point. When Roy Oswalt and Derek Holland are ready to go, he could find himself back at Frisco… or he could pull a Robbie Ross and find himself in the bullpen. Either way, you know that he’s front and center on the big league radar now.

Rangers Vs. Orioles: Texas Takes Series With 7-3 Win

Josh Hamilton hit another home run as the Rangers won the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Orioles in Baltimore, along with the series.
Derek Holland got the start for Texas and gave up three runs on four hits over six innings. All three runs came in the second inning. Texas scored the first runs of the game with Hamilton's two-run blast in the first inning. In the fifth inning, Mike Napoli tied the game on a triple and was later scored on a single by Elvis Andrus, giving the Rangers the lead. Texas tacked on three more in the seventh.
Hamilton went 1-for-4, while Napoli went 2-for-4. After taking one out of three games in its previous three series, the Rangers finished a 10-game road trip on a high note, taking three of four games in Baltimore. Texas will now head home for seven games.

Earth Day 2012: How You Can Help Save Our Planet's Resources

It's the Earth's Day today, but it's our moment to look around, breathe our air in a little deeper and hug our trees a little tighter.
It's a day for us to appreciate the unbelievable resources we have and to pledge to do our best to protect the incredible offerings that nature unfailingly provides us.
What will you do to celebrate Earth Day?
Consider partaking in one (or all!) of the five nature-centric activities below that will give you the opportunity to thank the Earth for all that she gives us.
Have a Picnic
To celebrate the Earth's "deliciousness," The Nature Conservancy, an international conservation nonprofit, is hosting the largest picnic ever by setting up "Picnics for the Planet" events throughout the world.
Plant a Tree
Help Green World Campaign restore indigenous ecologies and lessen the climate crisis in environmentally-damaged locations, by planting trees in the communities that desperately need them.
Pledge an Act of Green
The Earth Day Network is encouraging its supporters to pledge 1 billion acts of green. Whether your plan is to plant a tree, clean up a park or commit to another noble green act, let the world know!
 Teach About the Earth
Determined to educate the next generation about the importance of protecting the Earth, The Water Planet Challenge gives educators and leaders the tools they need to teach, specifically, about water conservation and gives grants to educators who want to keep inspiring their students long after Earth Day.
Volunteer!
Roll up your sleeves and join Earth-enthusiasts determined to save the planet, by getting involved with an environmental nonprofit in your area.
